Festa italiana Hawaii is delighted to present musical performances by Mango Season, Hawaii Youth Symphony, Hawaii Opera Theatre and Pierre Grill, and Italian-American Tantra Grillo will serve as our event emcee throughout the evening. Performances will all be of Italian nature or inspiration, allowing Festa attendees to truly feel like they've been transported to Italy. Sicilian - Jewish - Irish Hip Hop Artist, Emcee & former Power 104.3 morning show radio personality, Tantra, has rocked crowds from 5-50,000 for the last 13 years in the Hawaiian Islands. Originally from Tustin, California she came to the Big Island of Hawaii in 2001 to study astronomy at the University of Hawaii, Hilo. She strongly identifies with the roots of her family name 'Grillo' from Tusa, Sicily. Most recently she become the first woman in Hawaii to take home the 2017 Na Hoku Hanohano Award for 'Hip Hop Album Of The Year' for her debut album titled 'Loves Heretic'.
This Hawaiʻi-based band came to life on the Honolulu music scene in 2009 as an acoustic Hawaiian folk duo performing on the streets and in the dive bars of Chinatown. Evolving their sound to incorporate vintage soul, jazz infused harmonies and a shock of funk groove, the members draw inspiration from the sounds of Earth, Wind & Fire, Chicago, Pink Martini, Sérgio Mendes & Brasil ’66, Steely Dan, and Kalapana. Mango Season is passionate about both their live concert experience, and providing the best in live entertainment for weddings and corporate events in Hawaiʻi.

Hawaii Youth Symphony is the islands’ only statewide instrumental music education program, for children ages 7-18. Their mission is to advance critical and positive links between music study, academic achievement, and social emotional development with programs that service youth through orchestral music education, performance opportunities, and community engagement.

Hawaii Opera Theatre is known for its vibrant and creative productions. Artistic excellence continues to be the cornerstone of standards for the company. International artists, who have graced stages from the New York Met to opera houses throughout Europe and Asia, compete up to three years in advance to perform on the HOT stage along side Hawaii’s best local artists. With its recent commemoration of 50 years as Hawaii’s only professional opera company, HOT is one of the largest performing arts organizations in the state with performances and outreach presentations on all of the major islands.
Pierre Grill has been recording and producing music for over 30 years in Honolulu. He's been awarded an Na Hoku Hanohano Award for his excellence in musical engineering. Pierre is often referred to as the "One Man Band," a name that he most certainly has earned for his impressive ability to play multiple instruments simultaneously and all the while keeping his audience entertained.
A native New Yorker who now resides in Hawaii, Mike is the creator and band leader of Big Band Monday at Jazz Minds Honolulu and the Jazz Band Director at University of Hawaii. Fluent in jazz trumpet, lead trumpet, and recording studio work, his resume includes touring and recording with Buddy Rich, Sarah Vaughn, Sammy Davis, Wynton Marsalis, Sonny and Cher, Billy Joel, Natalie Cole, Rosemary Clooney, The Temptations, Tony Bennett, Gladys Knight, and Bruno Mars.

DJ Mickey Gold is a DJ/Percussionist/Production Artist based out of Los Angeles. With a vast music background and high energy live performances, Mickey Gold is taking the world by storm and will bring a modern European music flare to Festa Italiana Hawaii.
